As to the noise, I was kept awake all night long by uninterrupted and constant jet traffic from the airport. Unfortunately, I learned after the fact that the hotel is in the flight pattern of the Federal Express Depot at the Memphis Airport and they run all night long every 15 minutes relentlessly. Zoom boom, zoom boom, zoom boom.
I was originally booked for four nights but checked out the next morning. I will say I was appreciative that the staff did not charge me for early check out.
Room was clean and well maintained, Staff are friendly. The usual Continental breakfast fare. Quiet location sits a block of the main thoroughfare.
I checked in on 12/02/17 for a jacuzzi tub room. The jacuzzi tub did not work. I flipped the switch and pushed the button in the tub & it makes a loud noise but does absolutely nothing. So I basically paid extra for a regular room. I did not even utilize the tub until I got back to my room around 3am. There was no point in notifying staff because there was nothing that could be done at 3 in the morning. Also that morning I took my food out of the mini refrigerator and a roach crawled out. When I brought this to the staff’s attention that morning I was told maintenance would come look at the tub and they never did. Upon checking out early, because I had to rush to the hospital to see a family member, I brought the same issue to their attention. The manager gave me a $9.57 refund (which the room was $96.14 with my Fedex discount) and then the young woman who was checking me out accused me of lying about the insect in my room. Her exact words were “If it really happened and it was me I would have came directly here and told someone. No one is going to stay overnight in a room with a roach.” I was appalled and I will NEVER be back to this establishment or any other choice hotel if this is the type of quality service I recieve. This was absolutely ridiculous that I wasted my money on a trashy, non-operational room and then to get accused of lying about something as atrocious as a roach. I plan to report this hotel to the BBB and anyone else that will listen.
This hotel has two floors with outside facing doors. We were able to park right in front of our door. Outdoor pool which we didn't use.
The room was very comfortable, and clean. The bed slept well. If I am ever in the area, I will stay there again.

As to check in, I arrived for check in after 10 p.m. and found that the lobby doors were locked and that there was a bullet proof glass check-in window inside the foyer. The clerk came to the check-in window and transacted the check-in process there. I told the clerk that I was uncomfortable with the security aspect of having to check in through a bulletproof glass window and asked if the neighborhood was safe, and in particular, asked if my car would be safe in that it was a 2017 Cadillac. She assured me that it would be safe and that I would be safe. Frankly, if it had been earlier in the evening and I wasn't so exhausted I would have gone somewhere else and paid the penalty fee for cancellation. But at that time of night in a strange city I had no choice.
