In the past, I would've given this place zero stars across the board if it let me, but recently it seems to have made a HUGE turnaround. The last few times I've had to go there(several over the last year) have been pleasant experiences(as far as hospital visits go) and I'm very glad of that considering it is the only hospital close to my home. My mother has had to have several extended stays there as well as surgeries and the staff was excellent. The doctors and nurses do a wonderful job explaining what is going to happen during treatment, at-home care, etc. I literally cannot express the dramatic improvement in service and patient care! It was so terrible in the past that I seriously would've trusted someone working out of the back of their van before I went there because the wait time alone would've caused my untimely demise had it been a serious illness or injury. It needed a disclaimer that said, "Good Luck". Bravo, for the changes! Too bad it only took 20+ years to make it happen...
I was admitted here in 2015. Got excellent care in par with some of the best hospitals, arnd the country. Doctors were on time and nurses were very helpful. Methodist gave me wrong diagnosis and discharged me for which i was admitted in ICU for 5 days to get pulmonary effusion done.
I would recommend this place for stern cardiovascular group
The staff here does their job, but at the bare minimum. Every pt is treated like a number in rotation. I've experienced way better service & care at Methodist. There are no greetings or introductions, they don't properly explain the diagnosis, it's noon; we've been waiting to see a Dr since 11:30 last night. The housekeeper is the only human thats been polite.
Food choice was bit funny but i think on the overall they would get 8.5 out of 10. Was able to get records in time and billing was fair.
My mother was a patient at the hospital recently. The nurses and staff were wonderful. We had to have Hospice care. I cannot express how kind and thoughtful the Hospice team was to my mother and our family. They made a very difficult time more bearable.
I had the misfortune of ending up in Baptist Memorial Hospital Desoto with food poisoning from a severely expired product left on a major supermarket shelf. The entire team that assisted me at this hospital were professional, pleasant, caring and patient. I have only had a handful of ER visits in my lifetime but this one stands out as the most comforting. I was in great deal of pain, really weak and not very alert...they treated me the way I was sure they would want to be treated should the roles be reversed. Baptist Memorial is a welcome change to the tunnel visioned, disconnected that has been my experience in the past. Well done Baptist Memorial and Thank you for Caring.
